Terms of Service

Effective: March 3, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Vinyl Catalog (the "Service"), operated by Joseph Condon ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

The Service includes the Vinyl Catalog website and iOS application, which allow you to catalog, organize, and track your record collection.

2. Account Registration

To use Vinyl Catalog, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Keeping your account information up to date

You may register using an email address and password, or through Sign in with Apple. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Vinyl Catalog only for its intended purpose of managing your personal record collection. You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service beyond normal use
  • Abuse the Discogs API integration by making excessive or automated searches
  • Upload malicious content, malformed CSV files, or attempt to exploit vulnerabilities
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service or its data
  • Circumvent feature limits or subscription restrictions through technical means

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of any personal data you enter into Vinyl Catalog, including notes, ratings, purchase information, wishlist entries, and folder organization. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and display your content as needed to provide the Service to you.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy of data you enter. Collection values and pricing estimates are provided for informational purposes only, are based on third-party marketplace data, and should not be relied upon for insurance, tax, or financial decisions.

5. Third-Party Data and Intellectual Property

Vinyl Catalog integrates with the Discogs database to provide album, artist, and label information. This data is sourced from the Discogs community database and is subject to their terms of use.

Album artwork, artist images, and label logos displayed within the Service are the property of their respective rights holders and are displayed for identification purposes only.

The Vinyl Catalog name, logo, and branding are the property of Joseph Condon. You may not use our branding without written permission.

6. Plans, Pricing, and Subscriptions

Free Plan

Vinyl Catalog offers a free plan that includes core collection management features with the following limits:

  • Up to 75 albums in your collection
  • Up to 3 custom folders
  • CSV import (subject to the album limit)
  • Basic collection statistics and value analytics

Vinyl Catalog+ (Paid Subscription)

Vinyl Catalog+ is an optional paid subscription that unlocks additional features including:

  • Unlimited albums and folders
  • CSV export of your collection
  • Detailed analytics (rating insights, value insights, condition breakdowns, artist insights)
  • Extended activity feed

We reserve the right to modify free plan limits and Plus features at any time. Existing functionality available at the time you subscribe will be maintained for the duration of your active subscription period.

Billing and Payment

Subscription billing is processed by RevenueCat through Apple's App Store (for iOS purchases) or Stripe (for web purchases). By subscribing, you also agree to the applicable payment processor's terms of service. We do not directly store or process your payment card information.

Prices are displayed at the time of purchase and may vary by region and platform. All prices include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

Renewal and Cancellation

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time:

  • iOS subscribers — Manage through your Apple ID settings (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions)
  • Web subscribers — Manage through the subscription settings page in the app

After cancellation, you retain access to Plus features until the end of your current billing period. Once your subscription expires, your account reverts to the free plan. Your collection data is preserved — you will not lose any albums, but access to Plus-only features will be restricted.

Refunds

Refund eligibility depends on your purchase platform. App Store purchases are subject to Apple's refund policy. Web purchases are subject to RevenueCat and Stripe's refund policies. For refund requests, please contact us and we will assist where possible.

7. Data Export

Vinyl Catalog+ subscribers can export their collection data in CSV format at any time through the app. If your subscription expires, you can still view all your collection data through the app but will not be able to generate new CSV exports until you resubscribe.

8. Service Availability

We strive to keep Vinyl Catalog available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

  • Scheduled or unscheduled maintenance
  • Server or infrastructure issues
  • Third-party service outages (e.g., Discogs API, payment processors)
  • Circumstances beyond our reasonable control

We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by service interruptions.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vinyl Catalog and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Loss of data or collection records
  • Inaccurate pricing or valuation estimates
  • Unauthorized access to your account
  • Service interruptions or downtime
  • Issues arising from third-party payment processing

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Collection value estimates are not guaranteed to be accurate and should not be used as the sole basis for financial decisions.

10. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the account settings. Account deletion is permanent and will remove all your collection data, folders, wishlist items, activity history, and personal information.

If you have an active Vinyl Catalog+ subscription, deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription with the payment provider. Please cancel your subscription before deleting your account to avoid continued billing.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in abusive behavior. Where possible, we will provide notice before taking such action.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users via email or in-app notification.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if necessary, through the courts of competent jurisdiction.
