Delete Your Vinyl Catalog Account

1. How to Request Deletion

You can delete your account yourself at any time. There are three ways, and any one of them is enough.

• In the Android app — Profile → Danger zone → Delete account. You will be asked to type a confirmation before anything is removed.
• In the iOS app — Profile → Danger zone → Delete account, with the same confirmation step.
• On the web — sign in, then go to Settings → Profile and use Delete account at the bottom of the page.

If you cannot get into your account

You do not need access to the app to have your account deleted. Email [email protected] from the email address on the account, or use our contact form, and ask us to delete it. We will confirm the request is genuine, delete the account, and reply to tell you it is done. We aim to respond within 24–48 hours.

2. What Is Deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

• Your account and sign-in credentials
• Your collection — every record, with its condition, notes, ratings, purchase details and custom field values
• Your wishlist
• Your folders
• Your play history
• Your activity history
• Your profile details, including your display name, handle, avatar and preferences
• Your follows, followers and any pending follow requests

Everything in that list is deleted outright rather than deactivated, and it cannot be recovered — we have no way to restore a deleted collection, so please export your data first if you want to keep it. You are signed out on every device, and your email address becomes free to register a new account with immediately.

Deleting your account does not by itself cancel a subscription bought through Apple. If you subscribed to Vinyl Catalog+ on iOS, cancel it in your Apple ID settings as well; see our Terms of Service.

3. What We Keep, and Why

We keep one record of the deletion itself. It is written at the moment you delete the account, it is never added to afterwards, and it is used only to understand how many people leave the service and when. It is not used for marketing and it is not shared.

That record contains exactly these things and nothing else:

• Your email address
• Your display name
• Your handle
• The number of albums that were in your collection
• Whether you had a Vinyl Catalog+ subscription
• Where that subscription came from, if you had one
• The platform you originally signed up on
• Your country
• The date you signed up
• The date you deleted the account

We keep it for security and fraud prevention — it is what lets us recognise repeated sign-up and deletion of the same account, and it is the only trace of your account that survives. If you would rather we did not keep even this, say so when you write to us and we will remove that record too.
